Marjorie Oron, is a pioneer of the Pilates method in the Benelux and owner of the Pilates Studios in the Hague and Rotterdam. She is a graduate of the Dance Academy Rotterdam and a former dancer of Djazzex in The Hague and the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York. The Pilates Studio in the Hague was not only the first to teach Pilates in the Benelux, but it is the first instructor training centre in Europe to teach the pure Pilates method as created by Joseph Pilates. Marjorie Oron gives many international seminars and, as Romana’s Pilates Trainer Level 2, Marjorie is qualified to take instructor examinations.
Jane Poerwoatmodjo is a graduate of the Dance Academy Rotterdam. She danced with a number of companies including, Djazzex, Montreal Dance in Canada and Conny Janssen Danst. She received her Pilates training at the Pilates Studio in the Hague and at seminars given by Romana Kryzanowska, Sari Mejia Santo and Juanita Lopez. She qualified as a Pilates trainer in 1998 and has worked at the Pilates Studio since then. She teaches at the Dance Academy Rotterdam and at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in the Hague. Jane Poerwoatmodjo is a partner in the Pilates Studio in Rotterdam and a Romana’s Pilates Level 3 Trainer.
Jasmin Strohmaier got certified in 2007 and since then she has been teaching at The Pilates Studio® The Hague and Rotterdam. Jasmin started the Pilates education in Greece and she successfully completed the programme at the training centre of Marjorie Oron. Before becoming a Pilates instructor, Jasmin studied dance and dance teaching at the Niki Kondaxaki – Bakali in Athens, Greece. She came in contact with Pilates in the last year of her dance education and the method engaged her interest right away. After working in multiple projects as a dancer, she focused her career on being a Pilates instructor.
Renate de Jong
Renate de Jong successfully completed the education programme in the pure pilates method at the training centre of Marjorie Oron, obtaining her certification in 2011. Since then, she has been working at The Pilates Studio® The Hague and Rotterdam. Apart from being a Pilates instructor, Renate is also a choreographer and a dance teacher, working not only as freelancer but also at renowned theatres, such as Hofplein Rotterdam and Youth Theatre Quint. She also teaches dance classes for people with mental disabilities and she is head teacher of the toddler theatre classes. Renate studied at the Rotterdam Dance Academy. It was there where she came in contact with Pilates for the first time and was immediately captivated by this training method.
Eugenia got certified in May 2013 and is working as a Pilates trainer at the Pilates Studio in the Hague and Rotterdam. Eugenia graduated from the Argentinian National University in translation, and has been working as a freelance translator for 14 years. Her first contact with Pilates was in Argentina in 2000 after she stopped training as a figure rollerskater. After moving to Spain, she got back into Pilates, because of repetitive strain injury of her back and given the good results she felt in her own body, she then decided to move a step further into becoming a Pilates instructor.
